And do you doubt Giants manufacturing capabilities? They havent changed their design much if it all as "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". It doesn't need changed. If their bikes were dangerous they wouldn't be allowed to sell them. Pro riders don't pick the bike they ride. If Kona choose not to run a Pro race team then that's Kona's choice.

The bay at the back isn't long enough to be useful and all you'd be doing is removing seats and making the total bootspace that'd be dry if it rained, longer but not as high. If you don't want the rear seats just rip them out and stick a roll cage in there. Also I reckon one day you'll decide you don't like it anymore it'd take a lot of work to change it back.
